Our Exhibitions

The ground floor of the Arts Exchange is more than just a spectacular room, it is a state of the art gallery. Since 2005 ArtsWestchester has been mounting an increasingly ambitious series of visual arts exhibitions, with a focus on artists that have a Westchester connection.
Attention artists! We accept exhibition proposals from Westchester-based artists. Please contact dcooper@artswestchester.org for more info.
Our current Exhibition: Enslaved Africans’ Rain Garden

Artist Vinnie Bagwell
Yonkers-based sculptor Vinnie Bagwell has proposed an extensive public project in Yonkers that will feature life-sized sculptures to commemorate the enslaved Africans who lived and worked in Westchester during the early years of European settlement. The ArtsWestchester exhibition is designed to introduce the public to the Enslaved Africans’ Rain Garden concept, and will feature maquettes (one-third scale sculpture models) of the planned sculptures, architectural drawings of a corresponding park, and historical information pertaining to slavery in Westchester.
The Enslaved Africans’ Rain Garden exhibition is made possible by Con Edison and the City of Yonkers, along with Entergy, MetroPartners, Pilla Creative Marketing, and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. The exhibition will be on view through October 23rd at The Arts Exchanges. Gallery Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 12-5 p.m. For more information, visit our Events Calendar Listing: http://www.artswestchester.org/things-to-do/event/enslaved-africans-rain-garden/
