ArtsWestchester is always looking for motivated individuals to fill internship positions. All applicants should be willing to work flexible hours and have a desire to learn about all aspects of arts administration. Internships are unpaid but can be used for college credit. Arts in Education Intern
The Arts in Education intern provides administrative support for the school and community art residency program and works closely with the Arts in Education staff. The intern will assist in all aspects of the teaching artist program, outreach, marketing duties, residency planning, and professional development for artists.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: conducting research; communicating with artists, arts organizations, and cultural sites in Westchester; filing; organizing mass mailings; performing data entry; and assisting with special projects, programs, and events.
The ideal candidate should have an interest in the arts and/or arts education, familiarity with the internet and Microsoft Office, a strong attention to detail, positive attitude, comfort working independently and as a team, and the ability to see tasks to completion and take initiative in a fast paced environment.

Communications Intern
The Communications intern will work with the Communications staff in all matters related to the press and publicity. The Communications department writes and produces an award-winning monthly newspaper, designs all ArtsWestchester promotional materials, pitches stories to the press, documents events with digital photography, develops marketing strategies and maintains our website.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: writing press releases, brainstorming story ideas, and maintaining our press list.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable on the phone, detail oriented, flexible, creative, and able to multi-task. Valuable skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office, proofreading, and editing. Some training will be provided.

Cultural Programs Intern
The Programs Department intern provides administrative support for the Grants and Cultural Programs department of ArtsWestchester. The intern will assist in a number of projects for our affiliate and associate members.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: basic office administration, data entry with training on the use of Microsoft Access, affiliate and associate member relations, exposure to Westchester County and New York State contract agreements, supervised site visits and other areas of arts and public administration.

Folk and Performing Arts Intern
ArtsWestchester is seeking responsible and motivated students or recent graduates in cultural studies, performing arts, documentary media and music production to assist with the cultural event programming at ArtsWestchester.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: audio-visual documentation, event production, outreach and marketing, database management, research, and special event staffing.
The ideal candidate has a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a background or interest in performing arts and or folk and traditional arts and culture. The internship is a minimum of 2 days per week, Monday through Saturday.

Fundraising/Special Events Intern
This internship offers the opportunity to work with development staff in all matters related to membership, special events, corporate sponsorships, foundation and government grant requests, and major gifts.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: providing assistance to the Development Department; executing mail merges and preparing mass mailings; entering data into The Raiser’s Edge fundraising database; creating and modifying Excel spreadsheets; soliciting for membership drives; preparing membership, donation, and event attendance acknowledgement letters; maintaining office hard files; assisting with the planning and execution of major fundraising events, including the annual Gala and Silent Auction; and working on special projects as needed.
The ideal candidate should be candidate a currently enrolled college student or recent graduate with a demonstrated interest in the arts, detail-oriented, personable, self-reliant, a skilled communicator, and a fast learner. Moreover, the ideal candidate must be comfortable on the phone and have experience working in Microsoft Office. Attendance at some special fundraising events is required and volunteering for exhibition openings and other events is encouraged.

Gallery/Exhibitions Intern
ArtsWestchester is seeking responsible and motivated students or recent graduates in the visual arts, art history, or arts administration to assist with day-to-day operations of the Arts Exchange Gallery, a dynamic fine arts space in the heart of downtown White Plains.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to, front desk reception of gallery clients and visitors, fielding phone inquiries about gallery exhibitions and performances, exhibition support including basic registrar duties, database management, research, and special event staffing.
The ideal candidate has a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a background or interest in the visual arts and gallery administration. The internship is a minimum of 2 days per week, Tuesday through Saturday. Gallery hours are 12-5PM, Tuesday through Saturday.

Graphic Design Intern
The graphic design intern works in the Communications department creating a variety of marketing materials for publicity use.
The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, flexible, creative, and able to multi-task. Valuable skills include proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop, and some experience with Adobe Illustrator.

Music in the Air Marketing Initiative Intern
The Communications department is looking for an intern to assist with the Music in the Air summer program marketing initiative.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: researching outdoor summer events in Westchester, uploading information to ArtsWestchester’s website, updating content on the website, assisting in writing descriptions for events listed on website and/or in print, assisting in keeping correspondence with participating organizations (including mail, phone, electronic), assisting in the preparation and organization for the Music in the Air launch event, managing weekly contest/ raffle, assisting with press releases, assisting with media coordination.
The ideal candidate should be articulate, technology savvy, and an effective writer, and have excellent time management and organization skills, efficient research abilities, an eye for detail and accuracy of information, and enthusiasm about the arts. Experience with WordPress a plus, but not required.
