All applicants should be willing to work flexible hours and have a desire to learn about all aspects of arts administration. Internships are unpaid but can be used for college credit. Arts in Education Intern
The Arts in Education intern provides administrative support for the school and community art residency program and works closely with the Arts in Education staff. S/he will assist in all aspects of the teaching artist program, participate in outreach, marketing duties and residency planning, as well as professional development for artists. Duties include but are not limited to: conducting research, communicating with artists, arts organizations and cultural sites in Westchester, filing, mass mailings, data entry, and assisting with special projects, programs and events.
Qualifications include: an interest in the arts and/or arts education, familiarity with the internet and Microsoft Office, a strong attention to detail, positive attitude, comfortable working independently and as a team, the ability to see tasks to completion and to take initiative in a fast paced environment.

Communications Intern
The Communications intern will work with the communications staff in all matters related to the press and publicity. The communications department writes and produces an award-winning monthly newspaper, designs all ArtsWestchester promotional materials, pitches stories to the press, documents events with digital photography, develops marketing strategies and maintains our website.
Intern responsibilities may include writing press releases, brainstorming story ideas, and maintaining our press list. The ideal candidate should be comfortable on the phone, detail oriented, flexible, creative, and able to multi-task. Valuable skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office, proofreading, and editing. Some training will be provided.

Cultural Programs Intern
The Programs Department intern provides administrative support for the Grants and Cultural Programs department of ArtsWestchester. S/he will assist in a number of projects for our affiliate and associate members. Duties will include, but are not limited to: basic office administration, data entry with training on the use of Microsoft Access, affiliate and associate member relations, exposure to Westchester County and New York State contract agreements, supervised site visits and other areas of arts and public administration.

Fundraising/Special Events Intern
This is a priceless opportunity to work with a friendly Development/Special Events team. Duties include but not limited to: basic office administration, data entry and instruction on Raiser’s Edge, preparations for special events and membership drives, phone follow-ups and helping the Development Coordinator in a variety of outreach projects. Ideal candidate must be comfortable on the phone, detail oriented, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a plus, and eager to learn about arts administration. This internship offers great networking opportunities as intern volunteers at our major fundraising events. Letter of recommendation is provided at end of term.

Gallery/Exhibitions Intern
Learn and share your skills in a positive and creative team! We are located in a former 1920s bank, on the ground two floors of the Arts Exchange in the center of downtown White Plains. You will greet and provide information to guests of the gallery and cultural tourism center; and assists in a number of tasks related to exhibitions, performances and special events. Ideal candidate has excellent communications skills and a special interest/experience with visual art and/or performing arts. Gallery hours are 12-5 p.m. Tue.-Sat.; most events outside those hours are Fri./Sat. between 6-10 p.m.
