The Grape Basket is made of all hand-split white oak. It has a woven oak herringbone bottom and a solid oak handle. Billy will share all things white oak, from how he selects his tree, how he hand splits the materials to the Owens method of rimming.

Billy is a second generation white oak basket maker. With his father, Dale Owens, recently deceased, he has had a basket business in Missouri for almost thirty years. All the materials used in the baskets are made from white oak timber grown in the Ozarks, which is selected, cut and shaved with a split knife.

Workshop Fee $45.00 members, $55.00 nonmembers

Materials Fee: $65 for the hand-harvested and prepared natural oak
