On May 6, 2009, 19-year-old Melissa Avrin lost her life to bulimia. It was the end of a five-year battle with the eating disorder, which wreaked havoc on the girl’s self-esteem, academic success, friendships, and family. To help prevent others from suffering with eating disorders, her mother, Judy, formed the organization Someday Melissa. This powerful, moving film, inspired by Melissa’s incredibly revealing journal writings, is the cornerstone of their efforts to change—and save—lives. Jeffrey Cobelli. 2011. 61 m. NR. US.
