Monika Zarzeczna

During her residency, Zarzeczna will be working on the installation under the working title Hardnekkig, a Dutch word which loosely translates as ‘stubborn’ or ‘tough.’ The project is inspired by elevated views of the city of Praque, and consists of a multitude of roof and other architectural shapes which will cling to walls, stand on platforms, or are suspended from the ceiling. The work mimics the way people can dify logic or nature by settling down in unsuitable places or situations. In a playful way, Hardnekkig will adust itself to the exhibition space, slowly taking over the gallery over the course of Zarzeczna’s two-month residency.
