One of the great nature cinematographers, Westchester resident Andrew Young has been traveling the world to record his astonishing images of animals and nature since 1982. To draw the audience into the stories he tells in his award-winning documentaries, he relies on a good measure of creativity, artifice, and skill. Tonight he’ll show clips and tell us about many of the films he’s made—focusing on brown bears in Alaska, lemurs in Madagascar, and beavers and nesting wood ducks right outside his home in Croton-on-Hudson.A riveting and surprising inside look at how nature documentaries are made, whether they focus on exotic destinations or our own backyard.
