NYT Book Review writer, Jim Bouton quotes, “Some of the best writers in the country discuss their relationship with the nation’s most iconic team”.
The “Damn Yankees” lineup includes celebrated novelists (Colum McCann and Pete Dexter), historians (Daniel Okrent and Bill James), biographers (Jane Leavy and Leigh Montville) and many of the biggest names in sportswriting (Frank Deford, Roy Blount Jr, Charles P. Pierce, Tom Verducci).
Rob Fleder, editor, will discuss the book and the team that inspires such powerful feelings, both positive and negative. Joining him will be contributor Will Leitch, sports columnist for “New York Magazine”, founding editor of the website Deadspin and one of the most exciting young voices in sports journalism.
