Lagond Music School

Lagond Music School is a charitable not-for-profit organization dedicated to music education and live music performance, serving a diverse community of students throughout Westchester and surrounding counties.

Lagond Music has created an innovative, dynamic approach to music education, teaching contemporary music with the same rigor traditionally applied to classical training. This regimen - along with our parallel focus on live performance - promotes excellence of discipline, expression, commitment and achievement in our students. These experiences not only help Lagond students reach their full creative potential, but are equally influential in their academic success and social endeavors.

Lagond students regularly move on to top universities and prestigious music conservatories. As evidence of our students' successes, the LMS class of 2010 alone has generated over $880,000 in music scholarships, and over $900,000 in academic scholarships. Several of our students have been chosen to perform in the annual Grammy Awards High School band, along with an ever-growing list of high accolades.

With a focus on contemporary musical styles (jazz, Latin, funk, rock, singer/songwriters - encompassing all instruments and voice), frequent live performances, and a dedicated, hands-on, conservatory college prep program, Lagond Music works to bring out the best in our students' personal and creative potential.

At Lagond, we also take special pride in the strong bond of our school community, including parents, families, faculty, and many of our alumni who regularly return to connect and perform with - and inspire - the current crop of Lagond students.
