Interactive discussion among panelists will include how to successfully cultivate a board, organizational and financial expectations, governance practices, thinking strategically, best practices and what should happen during a board meeting to engage and involve.

Presenter:
Linda Breton, LCSW, MPA has spent her professional career as a clinician or senior manager in various mental health and human service organizations in Massachusetts, Illinois and New York. In 2010, following more than a decade as Assistant Executive Director at Westchester Jewish Community Services, she retired from full-time employment. Still committed to serving her community, she works part-time at ReServe where, among other responsibilities, she has been charged with establishing and expanding a Westchester branch of the organization.
Legal Matters: Artists as Contract Employees CANCELLED

Learn the legal requirements and practical pointers of hiring and working with artists.
Topics covered will include the artist as an employee versus an independent contractor, how to correctly determine the employee status of a performing artist and when to enter into a written contract with an artist.

Jennifer Grudnowski is a Senior Staff Attorney at The Pro Bono Partnership in White Plains providing direct legal services and education to nonprofit organizations, focusing on employment law matters.
The Pro Bono Partnership provides free business and transactional legal services to nonprofit organizations serving the disadvantaged or enhancing the quality of life in neighborhoods in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
